Summary

This unit covers the use of an IDE to develop/debug a program, and the fundamentals of programming including recursion and the concepts of OOP, while recognising that some students may have had little previous experience of programming and others will already be seasoned programmers. It covers Section 2.2.1 of the OCR H446 Specification.

No one programming language is taught, leaving this choice up to the teacher. These theory lessons could be run in parallel with practical programming sessions, and it is recommended that students code the pseudocode solutions that they write to give extra experience in practical programming.

What people say...

I love this book. As a relatively new teacher to A Level Computer Science, this book is of immense value to both myself and my students. The layout inspires confidence, is easy to find the topic you want to focus on and I love the way the pages are colour coded. I believe the regular use of this book, together with other preferred resources, will increase the chances of success for students.

The KS3 units have been a real success and are well laid out, user friendly and engaging for pupils.
