Summary

In this final unit of the series, student explore the most complex aspects of algebra on the specification.  Lessons 1 and 2 investigate algebraic fractions and their manipulation using the four rules.  Simplifying algebraic fractions by factorising first is tackled and problems are set up and solved which involve algebraic fractions leading to quadratic equations.  In lessons 4 and 5 further algebraic manipulation is used to change the subject of a formula in increasingly complex contexts. The final lesson of the unit explores the rigour, structure and level of explanation required to make a mathematical argument.

What people say...

I am very impressed – the ClearRevise Food Preparation and Nutrition book reads so well, beautiful colour and presentation.

Sarah Middleton. Head of Food, Ashby School

As I am non-specialist teaching the new specification of AQA GCSE Chemistry for the first time this year, these resources have been invaluable to me. The presentations are thorough and well illustrated. The teacher guide and power point presentation leads you through the topics logically.

Helen Webb. Science teacher, Lutterworth College
