Topic Area 4: Summary

For first teaching in September 2022

This pack covers Topic Area 4 of Unit R038.

The first lesson introduces a range of methods of evaluating design ideas that are used in industry. The second and third lessons examine traditional and modern modeling methods, including the advantages and limitations of each method. Finally, the last lesson covers the methods of evaluating a design outcome, before a final assessment covering the content of the whole topic area.

The Engineering Design Teaching Series has been written to satisfy the specification for the elements assessed by written examination for the OCR Cambridge Nationals in Engineering Design J822 Level 1/2 specification. Each pack contains:
