Summary

Updated for the 2025 AAQ specification. Coming in 2025.

These resources cover Learning Aim A (A1 and A2) of the specification and are subdivided into seven topics plus an end-of-unit assessment. Each topic contains enough content for one to two lessons material. The resources contain appropriate case studies and examples to show how the principles of website development are applied. The first topic considers the purpose and audience of a website. Page layout, navigation and content are considered in the second topic. The typography and colour schemes used in web design are covered in topic three. The user experience (UX) is considered in the fourth topic. Dynamic websites, compatibility and Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) are all covered in topic five. Examples of client requirements and how to carry out research into similar websites are covered in topic six. The final topic looks at how to carry out further research and the structuring of a website. After the final topic there is an opportunity for students to sit an assessment test comprising questions that will show how well students have understood the topics before they undertake the Pearson Set Assignment Brief.
